A gate valve is generally selected for full-open or full-closed isolation where a low-restriction passage is valuable. KASIN lists stainless steel gate valve models with flanged connections, including PN25, PN40 and ASME Class 150 examples. Different designs may use manual or electric operation, depending on the product.
The PN25 stainless steel flanged gate valve suits a different class specification from the PN40 electric gate valve. The design of the wedge, seat and stem affects service suitability. Gate valves normally should not be selected for continuous throttling without engineering confirmation.
Gate valves are typically used where fully opening the passage is desirable, but frequent partial opening can damage the seating area in some services. For a motorized model, confirm the actuator travel and end-position control. If solids or high viscosity are present, a knife gate design may be more appropriate than a conventional wedge gate valve.
For a replacement or new project, identify nominal size, flange details, fluid, design pressure and temperature, operating frequency and required actuation. If precise flow regulation is the priority, compare the globe valve range. Additional order support appears on KASIN’s service and ordering information page.
