RX ring joint gaskets are metallic RTJ seals designed to work with specified compatible flange grooves in pressure-service systems. Their geometry differs from standard R-type rings, even when related flange designations are involved. KASIN lists RX products including an RX-40 metallic gasket and additional RX-type sealing rings.
RX gaskets use a profile intended to develop sealing contact under the correct assembly and pressure conditions. This does not remove the need for proper flange preparation, bolt loading or material selection. The groove geometry and the exact ring number must match the engineering drawings.
When an RX gasket is specified for existing equipment, verify the marked ring number against the flange documentation rather than relying on visual shape. The ring must be matched to the groove as a system. Keep gasket handling, groove cleanliness and prescribed bolt-tightening practice in the installation checklist for pressure service.
Include ring designation, flange standard, gasket material, operating pressure and temperature, and surface or hardness requirements in the RFQ.
