A pneumatic knife gate valve uses a compressed-air actuator to move the gate for automated on/off service. For slurry or wastewater lines, the selection must account for material build-up, sealing and the operating frequency—not only the actuator size. KASIN lists pneumatic knife gate and lined designs for industrial flow systems.
The actuator should develop sufficient force against the expected differential pressure and friction in the selected valve. Seat materials and possible abrasion-resistant linings matter where solids are present. The pneumatic knife gate valve product and polyurethane-lined knife gate valve provide starting points for discussing model-specific options.
The pneumatic control package may include solenoid control, limit indication and manual override, depending on the selected model and project design. These options should not be assumed standard. For a wet or abrasive environment, also consider actuator positioning and access so technicians can inspect the stem, seals and air connections safely.
Specify DN size, pressure conditions, fluid and solids content, air pressure, fail-position requirements if any, and the number of expected cycles. For alternative operating methods, see the parent knife gate valves category. KASIN can discuss project needs through service and ordering information.
