The L2S 90D Long Weld Elbow is permanently installed into a piping system via butt-welding at both ends-. The fitting changes the direction of fluid flow by 90 degrees with a centerline radius precisely equal to 1.5 times the nominal pipe diameter (1.5D).
The integrated tangent sections – straight extensions on both ends of the elbow – serve a critical purpose: they provide additional straight length that allows welders to position welding equipment properly and achieve full-penetration, high-integrity welds. This is especially valuable in sanitary and high-purity applications where weld quality directly impacts system cleanliness and reliability.
Once welded, the fitting becomes a permanent, seamless part of the pipeline-. The smooth, polished interior surface (32Ra or better) ensures unobstructed flow, minimizes pressure drop, and prevents product entrapment – making it ideal for CIP (Clean-In-Place) systems where regular cleaning is essential.
