The Mod. SIG/59 operates purely on differential pressure. During forward flow, the media pressure lifts the floating polished ball off its integral seat, allowing product to pass freely through the Y-chamber into the outlet. When downstream pressure drops or reverse flow occurs, the backflow pressure combined with the ball’s own weight immediately drives the ball back onto the seat, creating a instantaneous, leak-tight seal that prevents product contamination or pump damage from backflow.
Note: Due to the Y-angle design, gravity assists the ball's return, ensuring reliable closing even at very low back-pressure.
