The Sanitary Butterfly Type Ball Valve Mod. SIG/50 operates on a simple yet highly effective quarter-turn principle. The valve features a disc-shaped ball with a precision-machined bore through its center. When the handle or actuator is turned to the open position, the ball rotates 90 degrees, aligning the bore with the flow path to allow unrestricted fluid passage. When rotated to the closed position, the ball turns perpendicular to the flow, with the solid surface of the ball completely blocking the flow path and creating a reliable, leak-tight seal. The 90° rotation enables rapid response and precise flow control, with multi-position handle options available for intermediate flow regulation. The valve can be operated manually via handle, or automatically through pneumatic or electric actuators for integration into automated process control systems.
